Sickness and Absence
Just like people in permanent positions, occasionally people in temporary assignments are sick or need to take absence from work. Generally, the absence itself is rarely a problem, providing that it is communicated and managed in a professional and courteous manner. The problem occurs when there is little or no communication, as this can make you look unreliable and un-committed to an employer.
If you are sick or absent from work for any reason, call us at least 30 minutes before your ‘normal’ start time. There is someone here from 8.15am. If we know there’s a problem, we can help, and we can communicate with your line manager on your behalf.
If we don’t hear from you, then we can’t help you, and the client might think you’ve just not turned up, which could put your assignment at risk.
In short, being sick isn’t a problem in itself, but you must let us know, so that we can help you.
